Darjeeling and Sikkim Trekking -Between May to October trekking in tiger hills in Darjeeling at an altitude of 8,586 meters offers view of Alpine trees, picturesque orchids and gigantic Himalayan lakes along with glimpse of Mt. The main rivers sites for river rafting in India include Rishikesh and Haridwar on river Ganga. In river Satluj the base camp is at Pandowa and from there rafting is done to Luhri, Pandowa, Tattapani, Kadhai Ka Fer and Salapper Bridge is the final point of the expedition. Pom Damn is the rafting area to be navigated with Kullu and Manali as the base camp in Beas river. In Sikkim, the river rafting is allowed on Teesta River.
Diving and Snorkeling
With a large unwinding coastline India is a paradise for lovers of diving and snorkeling. The three main diving centers are Andaman and Nicobar group of islands in the Bay of Bengal, Lakshadweep group of islands in the Arabian Sea and state of Goa. Goa is also the nodal point for sailing, yachting and surfing activities in India.
